Some Sad News

Today it is my sad duty to announce that longtime lacemaker and lace historian, Lorelei Halley, passed away on April 1. Lorelei was the creator and Web mistress of the original laceIOLI and NeedleLaceTalk Web sites on the Ning platform, which she ran for ten years. Working Behind the Scenes

Even though it may look as though nothing has happened with the site in the last few weeks, we are working feverishly behind the scenes. We have just a few days left before the Ning hosting is scheduled to end, and we are making the most of our time capturing the last bit of content so we can move it over here to this site in the coming weeks. Thank you so much for your patience as we complete this move.

Weekend Update

The registration and login system seems to be working now, and we’re beginning to see a few new members each day. Site navigation is not functioning entirely correctly yet, but that is the task for the next few days. Be sure to check out the forums (Community in the menu above). Feel free to start posting about your lace interests and adventures. We will start adding the discussion from the Ning site in the near future, so don’t feel as though you have to post in both places–it will all be combined into one eventually.

Making Progress

Thank you for visiting the new laceIOLI Web site!  It’s still a work in progress, but I would love to know your thoughts on it, what works, what doesn’t, etc. The admin of the Ning site is stepping back, and she and I, along with IOLI, have been planning and working for several months to migrate that site to one that we have more control over as well as costing quite a bit less.
